2nd Wokshop

The Archi-Mundus Project addresses an invitation to the international architectural education community to work collectively in order to contribute to the development of a quality culture in architectural education worldwide. A necessary step to the achievement of this objective is to define what architectural education quality is. In our first workshop in Rio de Janeiro last February, we tried to map the different conceptions of architectural education quality as they emerge through the different educational environments where our partners actually work. We discussed what is conceived as quality in these environments, which quality control mechanisms are implemented, how the contemporary request for quality is incorporated in architectural curricula, how the concern for quality is expressed in the life of our schools. We also discussed how the request of quality affects our teaching and how we can detect quality in the work of our students.
